Kanye, Yeezus, Pablo—whatever he wants to call himself, we’re down. The multi-hyphenate game-changer has upped the ante with each successive album, and 2016’s The Life of Pablo is no exception, revealing yet another facet of his prodigious artistry and standing as his finest work to date. As Kanye proved a few months ago with his uplifting rendition of “Ultrabeam Light” on SNL, his approach to live performance is just as visionary as his music—which is precisely why we’re so excited for the just-announced Kanye West: Saint Pablo Tour. If the ambitious SNL performance is any indication, Ye is going to pull out all the stops for his latest round on the road, and we can’t wait to see what surprises he has in store.

Kanye has made a splash with his art, and waves with his provocative Twitter presence. Equal parts mad genius, rabble-rouser, and inspirational speaker, Kanye has absolutely zero filter when it comes to speaking his mind, and his Kanye-isms, passionate rants, and penchant for using CAPS have made his Twitter account a constant source of conversation.

To get you up to speed on what’s on Kanye’s mind as he preps for his tour, here are our favorite Kanye Tweets from 2016 (so far).

Kanye recently egged his critics by claiming that his Tweets are a form of “contemporary art”. It’s a pretty bold statement to make about a medium that maxes out at 140 characters, but that doesn’t mean we disagree with him either.

Kanye frequently takes to Twitter to engage with public figures—recently he ribbed Clippers owner Steve Ballmer about the team’s new mascot Chuck the Condor. Ballmer took the unsolicited design advice in stride, responding to Kanye with an offer of lunch and an invitation to a game to discuss.

Obama and Kanye talking NAS’ next album? We’re surprised World Star didn’t crash when Kanye dropped this juicy tidbit earlier this year. Ye also caused a media frenzy at last year’s MTV Video Awards when he announced he would be running for president in 2020, and being friendly with the POTUS brings his candidacy that much closer to a legitimate possibility.

Earlier this year Ye surprised more than just a few of his fans when he announced that Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean” was his favorite song of 2015. It’s a pretty unexpected endorsement, but no surprise to us—the Bieber jam is definitely one of our faves too.

In classic self-aggrandizing form, Kanye compared himself to American literary genius Mark Twain last month when he called out imposter Twitter accounts posting fake Kanye-isms. Whether Twain rolled over in his grave or gave a thumbs up from beyond is a question for the ages.

It’s been a year full of epic Tweets for Kanye West, and it’s only June! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for him—in addition to his upcoming tour, he also announced that his next album Turbo Grafx 16 will drop this summer. Woot!
